Cortney Schwalbe is a dynamic speaker with a unique and heartwarming story of overcoming struggles, picking up the pieces, and trusting Jesus to put them back together. She has dealt with divorced parents, suicidal thoughts/depression, anorexia/bulimia, and most difficult, burying their first-born child four years ago, after his premature birth granted him only 5 days on this earth.
Cortney shares her story with heartfelt honesty about marriage difficulties, depression and questioning God's perfect plan in the aftermath of losing a child. She also shares how God's miracles continue to turn the ashes into beauty as they seek God's plan for their family.
Cortney is the Navy wife of Ken, a naval officer serving in the Civil Engineer Corps in San Diego. They are busy raising their daughters, Kennedy (3) and Morgan (1), and enjoying all that sunny California offers before Ken retires and they return to their home in Austin, Texas. She and her family find that serving, loving and giving to others, help them to answer the call that Jesus asks of us: "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." (Mat 25:40 NIV)

Cortney is working on her first book; a true story about their son, his two namesakes, and how their three lives first intersect in heaven. A raw and gripping account of the unwanted path of losing a child and finding grace, peace, and hope in the midst of chaos and heartbreak.
